dsh-asr-plugin
Unofficial DeepSeek Harness plugin

Frequently asked questions

Which platforms are supported?

Apple Silicon macOS with Node.js 24; verified with DSH 0.2.0-rc.2. Windows, Linux and Intel Macs are unsupported. See getting started for API system requirements.

Is this an official DeepSeek plugin?

No. This open-source community plugin is maintained by huliux, independently of DeepSeek's official product support.

Does meeting data leave my Mac?

Audio inference runs locally after model preparation. Reading or summarizing a meeting with an online LLM sends the referenced transcript to DSH's configured provider. Host configuration and provider terms govern that operation.

Why do I need a separate model download?

Packages contain runtime code, native components and the recording Helper, but no weights. Base models are approximately 278 MiB; optional punctuation models are approximately 274 MiB. Downloads use pinned upstream revisions with size and SHA-256 checks. See model assets for offline staging.

Do summaries update automatically during recording?

No. Each request produces an interim snapshot of the current draft. Request another summary when needed. Drafts may be revised; review the completed transcript after recording.

Can speaker labels identify participants?

They distinguish voices within a meeting, not personal or cross-meeting identities. Do not ask a model to infer names from these labels.

What if the system-audio check fails?

Check “Recording permissions” in settings, macOS permissions, the output device, volume and routing. Failure may reflect permission or routing. Silence during recording does not establish permission denial. The Helper is not notarized; updates may require approval again. Keep system protections enabled.

How fast and accurate is transcription?

Results depend on hardware, duration, noise and speech conditions. No general accuracy benchmark is reported. Demo screenshots do not establish performance for other meetings.

What should I preserve during an update?

Preserve meeting and model data when replacing a package. Run one plugin host per data directory; Desktop and Web profiles share the default store. See distribution for installation and verification.
